Thinking of colleges online as escape pods may seem odd at first. However, a second look at the idea may yield considerable academic fruit for prospective college students seeking a way to escape the current downward trend in the employment picture. True, higher education has always been an efficient and attractive path to upward mobility and professional progress, but the situation may very well have come to the point that a college degree is absolutely necessary just to stay in the same place. Given that set of circumstances, it is not really too far fetched to surmise that attending colleges online is a way to enter an escape pod and at least attempt to learn enough to have a chance at upward mobility and professional progress, plus simply attending online college courses is a way to serve yourself and serve others.
